About Angklung and Kulintang

Angklung and Kulintang Ensemble appeals to all students who enjoy music. It offers an engaging and meaningful musical experience for all ages. The CCA sessions are conducted on Tuesdays, 2.15pm to 4.15pm in the music room.

Experiences

Members are given the opportunity to make music using Angklung, Kulintang and other instruments. They are learning traditional and modern songs. Members get opportunities to go on learning journeys where they learn more about music or get the opportunity to showcase their talent to the public.

Developing our students

During CCA sessions, members acquire musical knowledge of the traditional instruments. They also develop their musicianship to make music as a team. Members also learn to play different instruments and harmonize with one another to make beautiful melodies.

Growing hearts and minds

Activities conducted during the CCA sessions are geared towards character building and inculcating the values of team spirit, integrity and empathy.

Team building activities form an integral part of the CCA as members find meaning through interactions with the other members and their interdependence on each other to achieve a set task.

Members also learn the value of discipline through playing the correct parts at the right time. Members have reflection activities that focuses on team spirit, integrity, empathy and self-discipline.

Empowering leaders and talents

Angklung student leaders are empowered to lead the team in some activities such as warm-up exercise. Section leaders also take charge in guiding the juniors in playing their instrument. This provides the opportunity to hone their leadership skills.
