About Dancesport | Dancesport is a form of competitive ballroom dancing that combines social skills with exercises. Its characteristics consists of physical strengths, agility, coordination, stamina, high level of fitness, discipline, teamwork, grace, style and musical interpretation. The CCA sessions are on Tuesdays and Fridays. The training sessions are conducted in the dance studios with experienced dance instructors. |

Experiences | The students will learn 2 types of dances – the Cha Cha and Jive. As they move on to the next talent level, the dance steps get more sophisticated. All the dancesports members will have multiple opportunities to perform both in school and at external venues. These are the activities that the members will get to experience. |

Developing our students | During CCA sessions, members develop positive thinking towards public performances and competitions and have high self-esteem and are more confident of themselves. Social graciousness are also instilled in members as they are trained to behave as ladies and gentlemen. |
Growing hearts and minds | Training sessions are geared towards character building. It also inculcates the values of respect, team spirit, loyalty, discipline and courage. During the debrief that is conducted at the end the training session, members are given the opportunity to discuss about issues, challenges and learning points that arise during the training. Resilience, respect and discipline are examples of the debrief focus. |
Empowering leaders and talents | Dancesport leaders are empowered to lead the team in activities such as warm-up and relaying of information to team members. They also lead the discussion during the reflections sessions that is conducted after each training. This provides the opportunity to hone their leadership skills. |
