Student Leadership
Department Goals and Objectives
Aligned with Edgefield Primary School's mission, the Student Leadership Department aims to:
-
Develop Positive Relationships: Empower students to influence their peers positively through leadership roles.
-
Make Meaningful Contributions: Provide students with opportunities to contribute actively to the school community.

The Tiered-Leadership Pyramid (left) is a spiral progression that enables students to take on various leadership roles at the different tiers. The 5-Stage Leadership Process outlines the structures in place for a student to experience development and growth in leadership dispositions.

Prefects of Edgefield Primary School are nurtured through intentional leadership opportunities that build confidence, communication, and teamwork. They grow by leading peers, reflecting on feedback, and taking initiative to serve the school community.

Student leadership positions such as Peer Support Leaders, Junior Environment Champions, Sports Leaders, CCA Leaders, Class and Subject Ambassadors in our school provide authentic platforms for students to step up, lead, and make a difference. Through mentoring, training, and real-life responsibilities, they develop key competencies such as resilience, empathy, and decision-making.
